Student performance continues to improve in the Midlothian ISD based on the 2008 preliminary Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) tests. In fact, MISD students continue to outperform their peers across the state on every test at every grade level.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) evaluates TAKS testing results from individual schools and districts across the state. District officials emphasize that based on the recent data tables released from TEA in July, MISD will be a Recognized School District with two Acceptable schools, two Recognized schools, and four Exemplary schools. The 2008 district and campus ratings will be finalized in October.
The following charts indicate the district "Met Standard" or passing rate compared to the state average as well as the percentage of students meeting Commended Performance. Commended Performance measures student achievement at its highest level. Students in this category performed at a level that is considerably above the state passing standard. |
