Learn More about MISDNew to Midlothian ISD?

Here's what you need to know...

Midlothian ISD celebrates over 100 years of excellence in education. Reaching higher, gaining momentum, and moving aggressively describe what is presently happening in the district. This progress is the establishment of academic standards, improving student achievement, and continually finding new ways to ensure that every child succeeds in learning.

Since 2003, the student population has increased by 30%. The school district has approximately 112 square miles serving approximately 7,350 students who reside within the boundaries of Cedar Hill, Mansfield, Maypearl, Ovilla, Venus, and Waxahachie.

The teaching staff strives to provide quality instruction and receives ongoing professional development through the district staff development program where teachers focus on content and instructional strategies, the alignment of curriculum, the integration of technology and the important task of building strong readers.

Midlothian ISD includes six elementary schools grades Pre K-5, two middle schools grades 6-8, and one high school grades 9-12. The schools retain a long history of recognition for student achievement and excellent student discipline. There is pride in the care and maintenance of facilities and the provisions for good learning environments.

The City of Midlothian is conveniently located 30 miles south of Dallas and 30 miles southeast of Ft. Worth. Known as the “Cement Capitol of Texas”, the growing community blends a rural quality of life with urban amenities, enriched by exceptional schools, churches and neighborhoods where innovative partnerships of citizens, businesses and governments respond to community needs.  Visit the Chamber of Commerce for more information.

If you have any questions about the district, please contact the MISD Communications Department at (972) 775-8296, ext. 1037 or email Jana Hathorne.
