In August of this year, NUTRIKIDS notified you of a trial policy change for processing online prepayments using eChecks. At that time we modified our processing to allow for eChecks that were deposited in the amount of $201.75 or less to be handled as an instant payment – similar to a credit/debit card deposit. Normally there is a 3 to 10 business day hold until the eCheck cleared the bank process.

Since that time, NUTRIKIDS has seen a significant increase in eCheck Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) transactions being processed through MyKids.

Given the increase in NSF eCheck transactions, effective immediately we will be reverting back to the regular clearing process as noted in our message in August. This means that all on-line prepayments funded by eChecks will continue to be processed as they had been prior to the trial. If parents desire to make a MyKids meal payment via eCheck, this payment will not be available until approved by their bank. This can take from 3 to 10 business days. If more immediate payment is necessary, we ask that they consider a different method of payment.

You should not receive any questions from parents as they were not informed by us of the trial. The original eCheck Processing Change notification letter for your reference can be found by clicking the following PDF icon link.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact NUTRIKIDS at 800-724-9853, extension 3003 or 3077. Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

Midlothian Food Service Policy:

1. Elementary students are allowed up to three (3) charged meals. After the third charged meal the child will be given an alternative meal for that day. An alternative meal is a meal consisting of a peanut butter-and-jelly or a cheese sandwich, a serving of fresh fruit, and milk.

2. There is a ‘NO CHARGE” policy at the secondary schools. A student that has a zero balance on their account and no cash will be provided with an alternative meal.

Thank you,
Food Service Department
