Shipmates who sailed the seas with us enjoyed such activities as computation ducks, walk the plank, peg leg jumping, treasure map grid, rowboat races, float your boat and cannonball toss. Shipmates also played with sea slime, made pirate hats, and helped draw a geometric pirate ship. Captains, first mates, and their crew filled their noggins with mathematical knowledge. We estimated, measured, made predictions, and used math in a recipe. Each shipmate received some pirate treasures. Captain Kidd and Captain Cavender directed the evening. |
