Paraprofessionals of Midlothian ISD
The Paraprofessionals of Midlothian ISD is an affiliate of the Texas Educational Support Staff Association (TESA). PPMISD was organized in September 2007. The group was formed to encourage paraprofessionals to get to know one another, to have opportunities for staff development and to become involved in our district through service. MESA chose to give back to our district by awarding a scholarship each year to a deserving Midlothian student through an application process.
In the spring of 2009, it was decided that there needed to be greater participation in MESA in order for the organization to continue. The Board met and agreed that we had made a great effort and had willing individuals but not enough numbers to move forward. It is the Board’s hope that we could plan a social for all paraprofessionals to gather and hear more about the TESA organization and what it has to offer for professional growth.
The Texas Educational Support Staff Association (TESA) was organized March 3, 1951, in Houston, Texas, with sixty-eight charter members. Since the organization meeting, TESA has been affiliated with the National Association of Educational Office Professionals, and from 1952 until 1980 was affiliated with the Texas State Teacher’s Association of School administrators.
TESA is the only professional association for educational support personnel in public schools, educational service centers, private schools, colleges, and universities in Texas.
You are encouraged to visit TESA’s web site to see the calendar of opportunities that are available.
