WGMS Picture Day
Picture Day is Friday, September 3. All students will have their picture taken during social studies classes. These photos will be used for the yearbook and student ID cards. Students should have received the order envelope from their social studies teachers. If you would like to purchase a packet, students must bring the money at the time of pictures or you may order online at mylifetouch.com and pay with a credit card. |

Get Connected in 2010-2011
MISD offers various communication avenues for parents and community stakeholders to stay connected to MISD. Parents can view their child's current grades via Powerschool and access their homework online as well. Social media is another way to get the latest district and campus news. Sign-up today for the MISD e-News, Facebook and Twitter pages. Each campus also posts news on the campus news and calendar pages. |

Fundraiser
The campus fundraiser runs from August 30 to September 15. All money raised from the campus-wide fundraiser directly benefits WGMS students and staff. Money is used for student events such as field days, 8th Grade Dinner Dance, No Zeroes Parties, perfect attendance awards. Students who sell 10 items will attend the special party. Those who sell 15 items will attend the party and get to play laser tag. Students who sell 20 items will enjoy fun and games at Alley Cats! In addition to all of the previous awards, students who sell 30 items get a spin at the Wheel of Fortune while those who sell 40 get to enter the money booth to grab some cash. |

BoxTops for Education
Brookshires is giving extra Box Tops for Education at checkout from September 1 and September 28. If you shop at Brookshires, please ask for the bonus Box Tops at checkout. If you purchase 5 participating products you will get 20 bonus Box Tops. If you buy 10 participating products you will get 50 bonus Box Tops. The math department will be collecting Box Tops for Education this year. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents to our school. Please clip these and send them with your child. Celebrate Homecoming Week 2010
Show your Panther Pride during the Homecoming 2010 festivities. The Pep Rally will be September 8 at 7:00pm at the MISD Stadium. The Homecoming Parade will be September 10 at 3:15pm. The MHS Varsity Football Panthers play the Northwest Texans at 7:30pm at the MISD Stadium. There will be a two-hour early release at all campuses. All MISD and community clubs, organizations and teams that involve students are welcome to participate in the parade.

CNB Quarter Back Program
If you have a debit card through Citizens National Bank, please call the bank to sign up for the Quarter Back program and designate Walnut Grove as your school to receive the donation. The bank will donate 25 cents for every credit or signature based transaction over $25 to the designated school. |
