Thank you so much for your donations to the KLTY Christmas Wish. With
your help the Wildcat Band donated $785 to help a needy family.
What a great lesson for our students to learn in helping out those in need
during the Christmas season.
Mr. Wood and I are truly blessed to have such great kids and parents in
our band program. Thank you for your support.
Mr. Wood, baby Avery and I were interviewed by Frank Reed from KLTY Monday

We traveled to Miller Elem., Longbranch Elem. and J.R.Irvin Elem. Yesterday we taught the students basic money vocabulary terms as well as the history of money and banking.
The Community Problem Solvers have created a series of economic lessons to educate the 3rd graders of MISD on how to be money smart and how to save for their future. They will visit the remaining 3 elementary school the first week in January. The things they will be teaching are "How Can I Earn Money As A 3rd Grader?", "Being Organized, Managing A Budget And Setting Goals", How To Open A Savings Account", "Savings vs. Spending and How To Spend Money Wisely" and "Wants vs. Needs and How To Make Your Money Grow". These lessons will be taught by video lessons sent to the teachers as well as Skyping with the classes each month.
We have created some fun characters to help us teach:
Bill E. Cash, Penny (She's #1), Nick the Nickel, George the Quarter, Diamond the Dime, "Fifty-Cent" and Mr. Moneybags the Banker. |
